Meet the Mechanic - Kevin

How did you begin working in the trailer industry?

I have been working in the trailer industry for 35 years now! When I left school I decided to do a YTS scheme, similar to an apprenticeship, with a local haulage company. I have stayed in the industry ever since.

What do you like about working for TIP?

I really enjoy being out and about in the mobile van, working with different customers on a day-to-day basis. It gives me the chance to meet lots of different people and get to know them!

I think the benefits offered are really good too. I worked for D&M Trailer Services before we were acquired by TIP and I have found the TIP benefits, such as private healthcare, really useful.

What’s your biggest work achievement?

At one point in time I was known for doing all ABS and EBS work on trailers and was kept very busy with it!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I really enjoy watching football and I am a keen Glasgow Celtic Fan! They are the best football team in my opinion, although some of my colleagues may disagree - they are wrong!
