Meet the Mechanic - Carl

How did you begin working in the trailer industry?

When I was younger, I wanted to be a car mechanic so when I left school I enrolled on a YTS (Youth Training Scheme) in a HGV garage. I have stayed in the industry ever since (a long time!).

What do you like about working for TIP Trailer Services?

The team of people at Carrington are great and I enjoy working with everyone. There is always someone who can help or guide you in the right direction when you need it. I also love the variety of work and how every day is different.

What’s your biggest work achievement?

When I worked in a body shop I had an aluminium box van job come in. The van had been in an accident so required a lot of work which was a difficult job to complete. I managed to get the job done and the customer was happy with the completion, time and quality of the job.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to travel; I would say my favourite place has been either Hawaii or Australia. I also love walking, reading, and gardening – I grow lots of my own fruit and veg in my garden!
