Meet the Mechanic - Jack

How did you begin working in the trailer industry?

I was forever messing around with bikes as a kid, taking them apart and rebuilding them. I started an apprenticeship for a truck rental company in Birmingham for three years and then moved to another trailer mechanic role, before I finally moved to TIP.

What do you like about working for TIP Trailer Services?

We have a good team of lads around us, which makes the job easier and enjoyable. I love getting stuck in, being challenged and enjoy making customers happy by getting their trailers back on the road without excessive downtime. I also enjoy making my mobile van stand out from the crowd & had great feedback from customers. I enjoy all the benefits of working for TIP and being recognised for all my hard work.

What’s your biggest work achievement?

I helped to run the Nuneaton workshop for two weeks covering absences. I covered the workshop manager tasks and also assisted in running the MOT lane. TIP awarded me a Business Hero Award, which went down nicely!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

Repairing / modifying cars & taking them to shows. Also enjoy a little fishing, which helps me to relax! Lately, I've been adding a few modifications to my mobile service unit  with a bit of extra TIP branded draperies!
