Meet the Commercial Team - Clare Mair

How long have you been in the industry and how did you get into it?

I’ve been in the industry for about two years now, working for Ryder as a contract manager before transferring to TIP. Prior to this, I spent 15 years in the travel industry as a senior retail manager where my team and I were responsible for meeting the business targets and ensuring exceptional customer experience and operational excellence. An opportunity arose in Ryder where I was able to transfer my skills to a new sector and further establish and maintain customer relationships. I am able to collaborate and create lasting contacts both internally and externally, allowing me to support TIP’s strategy and goals.

What does a typical day for you involve?

No two days are the same! I could be at a customer site or I could be conducting a review meeting. I also could be at the branch with the operations team, supporting the delivery to the customer. Sometimes I am even overseeing a new trailer delivery, but everyday is about building and maintaining great relationships with customers and colleagues.

What is your biggest work achievement?

Being recognised to be a part of the commercial team in TIP. My sales and service background has led me to this role and I am excited to be in the team.

Who / what inspires you the most?

I have been a part of a few teams that have demonstrated unity and have overcome setbacks, whilst striving to do better together. I enjoy being a part of teams like that.
