TIP upgrades the Wickes trailer & truck fleet and supports their truck safety campaign

TIP has provided home improvement retailer Wickes with new trailers and trucks to replenish its fleet, including a new ‘safety truck’ to support their Truck And Child Safety (TACS) program.

The fleet ‘refresh’ consists of a number of DAF XF 480 tractor units, LF 260 curtainside rigid trucks and double-deck curtainsider trailers, all on a long-term arrangement.

The safety truck will be used to help re-enforce promotion of Wickes’ ongoing child safety training campaign. Complete with bespoke safety livery, it will primarily be used to visit schools around the UK to demonstrate road safety.

The rigid trucks feature an underbody kitchen worktop storage locker to keep kitchen worktops safe, whilst freeing up space in the main cargo area and the Montracon double-deck curtainsider trailers are supplied with unique strapping arrangement, to enhance safety and optimise delivery space.

The trailers are fitted with BrakePlus, enabling Wickes to reduce the number of roller brake tests required throughout the year. Wickes have calculated that BrakePlus will provide an estimated annual saving across fleet of more than £50,000.
