Meet the TIP Hull Team

The business at the branch was started as Grayrentals by Robin and Terry Moody (Operations Director) with a Tata pick and a mobile phone the size of a house brick in 1991. At that time, the fleet was made up of 80 trucks and trailers, today we manage 3,500. Terry is an excellent golfer and a big Hull City fan. He is famous for the 'Moody shuffle' which is seen annually at the Christmas party.
From a commercial perspective, the branch is led by Jonny Clark (Commercial Director). Jonny joined the commercial team in 2018 and has never looked back since. He is also a keen golfer, though who is the better between him and Terry has never been revealed.

Steve Stanton (Business Development Manager) joined the team in 2019 and has helped to develop the business since then. He is a fan of all things American, including 50’s ‘rockabilly’ music, cars and pickups. He is also an avid Nottingham Forest fan.

Paul Carter (Operations Manager) originally joined the team in 2010 as a vehicle inspector having previously worked as a technician and for his father’s haulage business. He is a Hull City fan and manages the greatest veteran’s football team in Yorkshire. He spends most of his spare time with his son, partner and her daughter.
Steve Widdas (Operations Manager) joined the team in 2018 and brought a wealth of experience from the commercial vehicle service industry. He lives on the coast, enjoys time with his wife and daughter and is a Liverpool Football Club fan.

Ian Darnbrough (Sales/Operations Manager) joined the business in 2005. He commutes daily from Bradford and outside work he enjoys anything to do with aviation; supports Leeds United.
Marie Westmorland (Senior Operations Administrator) has been with us since 2009 and is a keen walker, regularly exploring the Yorkshire Dales. Her favourite holiday destination is Italy. She likes a cocktail and on staff nights out she is always the first on the dance floor and last to leave.
Lauren Arnett (Operations Administrator) has been with the team since 2015. She is a keen swimmer who enjoys socialising with her friends. Lauren’s favourite time of the week is Saturday morning when she can get her nails done!
Carol Smith (Operations Administrator) has been with us since 2016, originally starting in accounts payable before moving over to operations in 2020. In her spare time, she likes socialising and going to the theatre.
Scott Buttle (Operations Assistant) joined us in February 2020, right before we went into lockdown! Scott is our go to guy for all things IT. He is a gamer who mostly plays ‘Call of Duty’ and ‘Crash Bandicoot’ with his son. He enjoys long bike rides and binge-watching TV shows with his fiancé. He can also solve a Rubik’s Cube in under 2 minutes!
Jess Moxon (Operations Assistant) burst onto the Grayrentals scene in a cloud of bats and glitter in 2019. She enjoys dancing, heavy metal, beer and fire breathing. She has also featured in a horror film!
Sarah Steele (Operations Assistant) is the newest member of the team joining in May 2021. She is already proving to be a great asset! She enjoys socialising and spending time with her 4 grandchildren who keep her very busy!
Diane Roach (Consultant Administrator) Diane joined operations in 2019, moved over to accounts and now splits her time between the two. She lives on the coast with her husband, son and a ginger rescue cat called Bob. She is a keen walker who spends her spare time planning trips in the family’s classic car, reading, watching TV, and knitting.
Tracy Westwood (Service Support Manager) has been with us since 2003. She is happily married with one son. She is a fan of Liverpool and Formula One, loves socialising and going on long holidays to the Caribbean.
Sharon Alden (Sales Ledger Clerk) joined the team in 2008 and immediately appointed herself entertainment manager (a task she takes very seriously)! She has 3 lovely children and 2 cats. On the rare occasions she has time to herself, she listens to cheesy 90’s music. She loves spending time on the beach with her family and going to the pub. Any pub. That sells shots.
Lesley Thomas (Purchase Ledger Clerk) has been at Grayrentals since 2011. She enjoys baking and knitting items for her 3 children and 6 grandchildren. She loves the outside, gardening, wine and a meal out with her family.
Molly Houghton (Credit Control) joined the team in 2018. She is engaged so is busy planning her wedding in her spare time. She has a young daughter who is a whirlwind! She enjoys spending her free time going out to eat with her family and finding new places to go on adventures!
Glenn Mills (Fleet Engineer) is the second longest serving team member after Terry. Glenn has worked here since 1996. He restores and shows classic motor bikes and cars, tours the UK in his caravan, and enjoys walks with his dogs. He once won a car on GMTV and had Lorraine Kelly on the phone letting him know!

James Ramage (Workshop Manager) James has been with us since 2021 and has had a positive impact on the workshop. He is a keen runner who supports Leeds United. His spare time is taken up by spending time with his family.
James leads the team of mechanics.

Pete Brown (HGV Technician) has been with Grayrentals since 2006 and has years of experience as a HGV technician. He served his apprenticeship at his family business that repaired coaches and built petrol tanker bodies. He is a keen gardener in his spare time.
Sebastian McDonald (Trainee Technician) joined us after serving in the armed forces for ten years. His passion is restoring his classic VW T2 camper van and spending time with his family.
Paul McLoughlin (Bodyshop Technician) joined the team in 2013 and has improved his skill set constantly since then. He likes to spend time in his caravan with his family and recently built a summer house.
Karl Carter (Senior Technician) has been with Terry from the very beginning, joining when Grayrentals was first set up. He is another keen caravanner who loves his classic rock music. He spends most of his spare time doing jobs for his 3 grown up children.
Andy Stuffins (HGV Technician) joined in 2009 bringing with him experience in both dealership for ERF and fleet maintenance. He restores motorcycles in his spare time - the total currently stands at 11 completed, 2 on going and numerous others awaiting a start!
Brendan Pollard (Bodyshop Technician) started alongside Paul in 2013 and has also increased his skill set in his time here. He loves his cricket and bird watching.
Carl Dobson (HGV Driver) is in his second spell with us having previously been here ten years. He is another motorcycle fan and enjoys both DIY and mechanical projects.
