Up to 1,800 electric and diesel trucks: MAN and TIP Group sign new framework agreement
MAN Truck & Bus and TIP Group have signed a new framework agreement. The agreement provides for the delivery of up to 600 vehicles per year over a period of three years. This means the contract covers a total of up to 1,800 vehicles of all weight classes – from 7.5 to 42 tonnes – and spans 18 European countries. In addition to conventionally powered vehicles, battery-electric trucks are also part of the contract, which has an order value of up to €160 million.
“With the new framework agreement, MAN Truck & Bus and TIP Group are sending a strong signal for the future of freight transport. We are pleased to accompany TIP as an important partner on the path to sustainable logistics – with efficient diesel trucks and innovative battery-electric vehicles. This agreement underscores the trust in our products and services and shows how we are jointly driving the transformation of the industry forward,” says Friedrich Baumann, Executive Board Member for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus.
“Supporting customers through the transition means offering the right solutions at the right time,” says Arjen Kraaij, CEO of TIP Group. “By working closely with partners like MAN, we can expand our fleet with both highly efficient diesel trucks and electric trucks, giving operators practical choices that balance performance, cost efficiency and sustainability. Since 2024, TIP has been focusing on zero-emission solutions and was the first rental company to integrate a larger number of MAN eTGX long-haul vehicles into its fleet.
Efficiency and Flexibility for All Transport Tasks
MAN offers a comprehensive truck portfolio for long-haul transport, construction, distribution logistics and municipal applications. Customers can choose between diesel and electric drives: diesel covers 7.5 to 255 tons, electric 12 to 42 tons. In the diesel segment, the new PowerLion drivetrain with D30 engine, TipMatic-14 transmission, and aerodynamic optimizations sets efficiency standards: up to 5% less fuel and CO₂ compared to the previous model. For a standard semi-trailer in long-haul transport, this means around 35 tonnes of CO₂ and up to €20,000 in operating cost savings over its lifetime.
At the same time, MAN is driving electromobility forward: with its modular battery concept, MAN’s eTruck models offer ranges of up to 310 km for the light-duty eTGL and up to 830 km for the heavy-duty eTGX and eTGS, depending on configuration and application. Equipped as standard with CCS connection and charging capacity of up to 375 kW, eTGX and eTGS will also be available with megawatt charging up to 750 kW from early summer 2026. Diesel and electric trucks are produced on the same line at the Munich plant in mixed production – for maximum flexibility to adapt to market demand and cost efficiency during the transition to zero-emission logistics.
Maximum Availability and Planning Security
With MAN service contracts, rental companies ensure maximum operational readiness for their customers – thanks to scheduled maintenance, fast repairs, and a Europe-wide service network. Fixed monthly rates provide full cost transparency and simplify budget planning. Preventive maintenance reduces unplanned downtime, increases profitability, and preserves vehicle value. Regular maintenance according to manufacturer specifications also guarantees the highest safety standards. This ensures smooth operations so companies can focus on their core business
