What do you study at university and what do you enjoy about it?

I study BA Marketing at Nottingham Trent University. I like how varied marketing is – it encapsulates a lot of different aspects such as psychology, data and creativity, whilst requiring a bit of strategic thinking. I also find marketing fascinating because of how it can influence people’s perceptions and ultimately their decisions.

What is your biggest achievement?

Completing a summer exchange school in Finland for 6 weeks. I was really apprehensive about leaving home for such a long period of time, but I am proud of how I overcame my nerves; it helped develop my self-confidence a lot. It was amazing to immerse myself in Finnish culture, having not known much about it beforehand, and I loved meeting new people.

What attracted you to TIP?

I was really drawn to the wide range of responsibilities this placement had to offer. I liked that it wasn’t niche to a particular area such as only social media, like other placements I had come across. I had also done many assignments on B2B marketing and was interested in putting what I had learnt into practice in a real-life scenario!

Who/what inspires you?

My mom! I think she’s extremely headstrong, resilient, and caring, and I aim to be just like her.

What will you be doing in 5 years' time?

I hope to have graduated from university with a ‘first’ and be in some sort of marketing role. I am really passionate about sports and so would love to work in that industry. Outside of my professional life, I aim to travel more and seeing the Northern Lights in Iceland is high upon my list. I also would love to do something a little out of the ordinary, such as volunteering at a sloth sanctuary!

What interesting fact about you would you like to share?

I am an avid Formula 1 fan – maybe too big of a fan if you ask some people!
